He is an ex-Pirin Blagoevgrad player, where he played from 2002. He moved to PFC CSKA Sofia in 2005. Bulgarian under 21 player, having also 1 match for the Bulgaria national football team.As a player of PFC CSKA Sofia he is a Bulgarian Cup winner in 2006 and Bulgarian Super Cup winner in the same year.Ilko Pirgov is considered as one of the big bulgarian football talents.
