- Jali
A jali (or "jaali") is the term for a perforated stone or
lattice dscreen , usually with an ornamental pattern constructed through the use ofcalligraphy andgeometry . Early work was performed by carving into stone, while the later moreelegant used by theMughals employed the technique of inlay, using marble andsemi-precious stones. [cite book
