- Kewl Chix
Kewl Chix is a recurring comic strip in the British adult humour magazine "Viz".
"Kewl Chix" stars a number of "kewl chix", i.e.
teenage girls obsessed with their social life, both in real life and on theInternet . Early strips portrayed them as stereotypicalbimbo /dumb blonde caricatures, but have now developed to show their fixation with celebrity gossip, social network service s andtext messaging .They are constantly calling each other on their
mobile phone s or sendinge-mail to each other. The girls talk in blatantly stereotypical "ditzy" language, for example: "Hieee Vix! Check yourMySpace babe. I've like, soooo sent you a message!". All the girls' names end in "x" (Bex, Vix and so on.) They appear to be incapable of communicating without the use of a computer or mobile phone, portrayed in a recent strip as unable to use a pencil or take a book out of the library in order to finish a school project. The girls only seem to be interested in their friendship with each other. None of them has been seen pursuing a romantic friendship with a boy (or another girl).
