Belfast Riot

Belfast Riot

The Belfast Riot was a community political revolt that took place in the hamlet of Belfast, Prince Edward Island, Canada in March 1847.

Historians have traced the cause of the unrest to religious and political tension surrounding a general election and the issue of freehold tenure of land.
