Captain Alberto Larraguibel Morales broke the record for the "high-jump" on horseback (Puissance ) at 8 ft. 1¼ in. (2.47 m), riding "Huaso" ex-"Faithfull", at the Official International Event at Viña del Mar, Chile onFebruary 5 ,1949 . The Committee of Records ratified this record onMay 28 ,1949 and stated that a height of at least 2.49 metres must be cleared to beat it.External links
