Escambia Bay Bridge

The Escambia Bay Bridge is a six-lane freeway bridge that crosses the Escambia Bay near Pensacola, Florida. The bridge is part of Interstate 10 and was damaged during Hurricane Ivan in 2004. [cite web

accessdate=2007-08-14] Construction on a new bridge to replace the one damaged by Hurrican Ivan began in early 2006. Unlike the previous bridge, this one adds one lane in both directions, making a total of six lanes (three eastbound and three westbound). This essential bridge connects the northern part of Florida with the Gulf Coast and is used by an estimated 25,000 vehicles a day.
