Glenn Franklin Howerton III (born April 13, 1976) is an American actor of television and film. He is best-known for his role as Dennis Reynolds on FX's "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (on which he is also a writer and executive producer). He also played Corey Howard on the short-lived 2002 sitcom "That '80s Show".

Biography

Early life

Howerton was born in Japan. His father, Glenn Franklin Howerton, Jr., was a fighter pilot. In consequence, Glenn (III) grew up in London, South Korea, and Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, and went on to study at Juilliard, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the school's actor training program.

Career

Howerton has guest-starred on "ER" as Dr. Nick Cooper (six episodes in 2003) and had small roles in the films "Serenity" (2005) and "Must Love Dogs" (2005). Howerton also starred as an emergency room nurse in "Crank" (2006). He will be executive producing a new show, "Boldly Going Nowhere", with his "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-creators. He has also had major supporting roles in "The Strangers" playing Mike and in The Onion Movie as the producer of a nightly news program.
