*San Diego Padres (by|2005-by|2008)

Paul M McAnulty (born February 24, 1981 in Oxnard, California) is a baseball outfielder who plays in the San Diego Padres franchise. He has spent most of the by|2007 season in the minor leagues on the Class AAA Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League.

McAnulty gained the attention Padres GM Kevin Towers when he batted .344 for Portland in 2005, which led to his major league debut on June 22, 2005. He is used as a pinch hitter, or called up when one of the starting outfielders is injured.

On September 6, 2006, he made a nice impression on Padres fans with a pinch hit, walkoff home run in the 11th Inning versus the Colorado Rockies. He hit the ball out at the deepest part of the monsterous Petco Park, notoriously known for being one of the best Pitcher's Parks in Major League Baseball.

During the 2008 Season, he had a stint where he was a starting outfielder on the depleted San Diego roster. He was labeled as a player with potential, but lacking the experience. An example was a good hit in a game against the Houston Astros, but soon after he suffered an error on the base paths.

Due to the lack of decent hitters on their roster, the Padres seem likely to promote him to a full time starter in the next season or two.
