Klaes or Klaus Karppinen (
October 9 ,1907 Iisalmi –January 24 ,1992 ), was a Finnish cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s. He won a gold medal at the1936 Winter Olympics inGarmisch-Partenkirchen in the 4 x 10 km relay.Karppinen's biggest successes were at the
Nordic skiing World Championships where he earned 10 medals, including 5 golds (18 km: 1935, 4 x 10 km: 1934, 1935, 1938, 1939) and 5 silvers (18 km: 1939; 50 km: 1935, 1937, 1939; and 4 x 10 km: 1937).External links
