colourant in food denoted byE number E107. It has the appearance of a yellow powder, soluble in water. It is a synthetic "coal tar " and yellowazo dye .It appears to cause allergic or anal rash reactions, particularly amongst those with an
aspirin intolerance andasthma sufferers. It is one of the colours that theHyperactive Children's Support Group recommends be eliminated from the diet of children.Currently only the UK in the
European Union uses this dye and the EU is proposing a total ban. Its use is banned inAustria ,Japan ,Norway ,Sweden ,Switzerland and theUnited States .
