Alan George "A.G." Lafley (born June 13, 1947) is an American businessman who serves as the CEO, President, and the Chairman of the Board of Procter & Gamble. He succeeded Durk Jager in June 2000, after the Board of Directors reportedly pressured Jager to resign [ [http://www.businessweek.com/managing/content/sep2007/ca20070913_742138.htm?campaign_id=rss_daily Businessweek, 13 September 2007] ] . Previously, Lafley had been President of Global Beauty Care and North America for P&G.

Lafley graduated from Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois, to earn an B.A. from Hamilton College in 1969. While at Hamilton, Lafley was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity. In 1970, after beginning a doctoral program, he took a commission with the U.S. Navy as a supply officer during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he studied at Harvard Business School, receiving his M.B.A. in 1977. He joined P&G upon his graduation, where he has worked ever since.

Lafley"] , BusinessWeek, 13 January 2003] . Along with Procter & Gamble, Lafley is also a member of the General Electric board of directors, as well as a member of the Dell board of directors.

On April 8, 2008 Lafley and consultant Ram Charan published The Game Changer, a book on increasing productivity through innovation.
