input = Nihongo|"Watanagashi-hen"|綿流し編|"Cotton Drifting Chapter" is the title of the second game of the "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" series and additionally is the second game of the "question" arc, spanning a total of four games. It was first released on December 29 2002 at Comiket 63. Later, a manga was adapted from this part of the story. Finally, in the anime series, "Watanagashi-hen" spans episodes five through eight of the first season.

Plot

By this chapter, the player should have an overall detail of how life in Hinamizawa is like. If the first game "Onikakushi-hen" was the appetizer, "Watanagashi-hen" is the start of the main dish. Once again, the turn of events occurs from the end of the Watanagashi Festival after the new character and Mion's twin sister Shion Sonozaki makes her first named appearance. Mion Sonozaki is portrayed as being the villain in this chapter.
