Brymbo is a village in the county borough of Wrexham, Wales. It forms part of the Wrexham Urban Area (pop 63,000) and is also a local government ward. The former Brymbo Steelworks was a prominent industry for the village and much of the surrounding area.

Churches

St Mary's church (built in 1872) and the Tin Chapel (English Methodist Church) remain.

Archeology

An important archaeological find was made in 1958 by workmen digging a pipe trench - the remains of "Brymbo Man", dating back to the early Bronze Age, around 1600BC. Another archaeological find was made in 2006 by workers redeveloping the site of the former steelworks - a fossilised forest of the petrified wood of over 20 trees, the fossils date from the Carboniferous Period. Present day

The village is currently undergoing massive regeneration, in the form of new private housing estates and local facilities. The Brymbo Development company are undertaking complete development of the former steelworks site. Around 600 houses will be built by 2009.
