Mihai Maghiaru

Mihai Maghiaru

Mihai Maghiaru (b. January 26, 1926 in Semlac, Arad County, Romania), is an Romanian-Australian community leader, president of the Association of Romanians in Australia ("Asociaţia Românilor din Australia"–ARA), and strongly involved in integration of the Romanians in Australia.

After completing high school in 1946, he left Romania in 1947 to pursue his studies in Prague. From 1948 to 1950 he was in Munich, after which he emigrated to Australia, where he was employed as quality assurance officer at Tubemakers of Australia until his retirement. He has been president of ARA since 1992.
