LynnMall is a shopping centre in New Lynn, a suburb of Waitakere City, New Zealand, on Great North Road adjacent to New Lynn Train Station, convert|11.8|km|mi|1 southwest of the Auckland CBD.

History

LynnMall was built in the 1970s. In March 1999, architects Hames Sharley undertook significant work to upgrade the shopping centre. In a 2008 rating of New Zealand shopping centres by a retail expert group, LynnMall received just two out of four stars, the lowest rating in the country (though not the lowest that would have been possible) based on the criteria of amount of shopping area, economic performance, amenity and appeal as well as future growth prospects. The reviewers considered that the look and feel of the centre had been allowed to deteriorate and that the centre would need substantial investment before being able to recover its true potential. A spokesperson for the centre's operator, AMP, disagreed and noted that the centre had more sales per square metre than other centres and had recently been refurbished. Transport

The centre is accessible by public bus, and the adjoining New Lynn Train Station.
