Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay (October 24 1894 - July 29 1987), was a renowned Bengali author. He was born in Darbhanga, Bihar, India.
Life
Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay was born on 24 October 1894 in a village of Mithila of Bihar(India).
Bibhutibhushan's early days were spent in Darbhanga, Bihar, India. His college life was spent in Kolkata. Was a schoolteacher and journalist.
He awarded by Ananda Puraskar in 1958, Rabindra Puraskar in 1972 and Sharatchandra Puraskar in 1978.Jagattarini Puraskar from Calcutta University, D.Litt from the University of Burdwan and Desikottama from the Visva-Bharati University of Shantiniketan.
Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay on 29 July 1987, died. He was ninety-three.
Works
Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay’s first book, the famous ‘Ranur Prothom Vagh’ was published in 1934. Child psychology and humorous element is found in his writing. Childish matters are very common in his writing.
The daily lives of middle class Bengali people are found in his writing.
His literary works were included in the curriculum of school level, secondary, higher secondary and graduation level Bengali Literature in Bangladesh.
