L.A.P.D. (Love And Peace Dude, later Laughing As People Die) was an American funk metal band that is best known for being comprised of the future members of Korn (with the exception of Jonathan Davis who, prior to Korn, was in another American rock band, Sexart).

Biography

L.A.P.D. formed in the late 1980s in Bakersfield, California. Signing to Triple X Records, they released the "Love and Peace, Dude EP" in 1989. A full-length entitled "Who's Laughing Now" followed on the May 31, 1991, but after a year of touring Morrill, who was dealing with drug addiction, left the band. The band met up with Sexart singer Jonathan Davis while working the club circuit, and decided to move out to Los Angeles where they started fresh as Korn. A full collection of L.A.P.D.'s recordings was released in 1997, which consisted of the "Love and Peace, Dude EP" and "Who's Laughing Now".
