Elliot Moose (TV series)

"Elliot Moose" was aired on TVOntario and PBS Kids as part of the PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch until it was cancelled along with Corduroy. It has since become part of the new qubo digital lineup. Based on a series of children's books by Andrea Beck, its 104 episodes show the adventures of a young moose named Elliot who shares adventures with his animal friends - a beaver named Beaverton, a lion named Lionel, a monkey named Socks, and a paisley bear named Paisley. The series was produced by Nelvana, later Corus Entertainment.

The series was developed by Jed MacKay - who also wrote the theme song - and produced by Marianne Culbert (Emmy nominee for PBS' Big Big World). The series was unique in that half of the stories were animated, and half were live action - reflecting children's real world of play and their imaginary world. The music was composed by Bruce Ley and Jed MacKay. The cast featured two members of TVOntario's award-winning series "Polka Dot Shorts" - Alisa Walton and Charlie Schott.
