Susan Blanchard (born Susan Jacobson, 1928 Fact|date=February 2008) is an American theatrical lyricist and producer who was the third wife of actor Henry Fonda and the second wife of actor Richard Widmark. Background

A daughter of Dorothy Kiaora Blanchard, a native of Australia, and Henry Jacobson, a New York businessman, [http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B0DE6D81030F937A3575BC0A961948260] Blanchard took her mother's surname after her parents' divorce. In 1929, her mother, a former actress turned interior decorator, married the lyricist and producer Oscar Hammerstein II. She had four siblings: a brother, Henry Jacobson Jr; a half-brother, James Blanchard Hammerstein (1931-1999), and two stepsiblings, William and Alice Hammerstein.
