Paul Bogdanor is a British
author . He writes on political issues and, withEdward Alexander (a professor of English at theUniversity of Washington, Seattle ), he co-edited the book "The Jewish Divide Over Israel: Accusers and Defenders" (Transaction, 2006).He is strongly critical of what he sees as
left-wing extremism andanti-Semitism . A particular focus of his political work has been exposing what he perceives asgenocide denial, especially in regard to what are considered Communist atrocities, e.g. theCambodian genocide perpetuated by theKhmer Rouge under the regime ofPol Pot . He has also vehemently denounced what he construes asHolocaust denial , or apologetics for those he considers Holocaust deniers. To this end, he has repeatedly criticized left-wing academics such asNoam Chomsky andNorman Finkelstein , whom he accuses of defending avowedneo-Nazis andHolocaust deniers . He also criticises prominent left-wing journalists and politicians such asJohn Pilger ,Robert Fisk andGeorge Galloway , whose perceived support for groups likeHamas andHezbollah he perceives as the "enthusiasm of today's radical leftists for the genocidal anti-semites of the far right."
