Karen Sponsler-Porter

Karen Sponsler-Porter is the co-producer and co-creator of Nanna's Cottage. She was born in Visalia, California, and was raised in the Northern California resort community of Mount Shasta. In 1994, she made the move to Southern California where she entered the motion picture industry as a costume designer.

Her talents served her well, and she soon became a much sought-after production designer, working on a number of independent feature films and theatrical plays. She also assisted McLeod Management before meeting her future husband and business partner, Davey Porter, on the set of the critically-acclaimed Fact|date=May 2008 independent feature, "Harley White Trash."

Sponsler-Porter designs the colorful and sometimes kooky costumes seen each week in "Nanna's Cottage", and is mother to the couple's daughter, Gracie, who has a recurring role in the show as Nanna's granddaughter, Rosey Smartidoodle. Sponsler-Porter has three children from a prior marriage, and the Porter family lives in Oregon, where "Nanna's Cottage" is produced.
