Blues Matters

Blues Matters! magazine is publication containing Blues reviews, interviews and "aims to promote and support the blues in all forms"; it carries the banner, 'Blues without the Blinkers'. The scope of the magazine covers blues music, artists, publications, labels, industry, and fans.

History

Blues Matters! was created in the late 1990s as a fanzine for a British blues band and by 2001 had grown to include exposure for other bands. Demand for Blues Matters! meant that by 2002, the 'fanzine' had grown to a 120 page 'magazine', giving interviews, reviews and previews of artists, CDs, DVDs, gigs, festivals, music products, post artists' gigs, and exchange information on blues and music. In 2002, Blues Matters! launched as a limited company that reflected the magazines growth and new opportunities arising. Blues Matters is regarded by many as the best blues magazine around. Blues Matters! Records reputation for representing British Blues was soon recognized in the industry, and by 2004 boasted 3 Record Labels with 25 recording artists and releases, a music publishing company, a National Blues Gig Guide, merchandise, Blues Music Store.Blues Matters! umbrella was needed to help 'champion the blues', spread the word, and promote the wealth of talented artists and music.

From an 80 page A5 (printed in blue) to what is now a 164 page A5 magazine, it has passed its 40th issue and still growing. It has a perfect bound spine, colour and content flexibility.

The label has released over 30 new albums in less than four years, and is being hailed as the UK’s biggest ever independent Blues Record Label.Fact|date=June 2007
