"Új Magyar Szó" ("New Hungarian Word") is a Hungarian-language Romanian broadsheet newspaper, based in Bucharest. It has one of the largest audiences of all Hungarian-language papers in Romania. The newspaper's readership is approximately 40,000.

History

Today's "Új Magyar Szó" is the heir of the former daily "Előre" (The Spark). For only a few days after the fall of Nicolae Ceauşescu, it appeared as "Romániai Magyar Szó" ("Romanian Hungarian Word"). In August 2005 "Romániai Magyar Szó" ("Romanian Hungarian Word") went bankrupt.
