marsupial s, were a carnivorous group ofotter /wolverine -shaped marsupials in the orderSparassodonta . They lived in theMiocene ofSouth America . Like all marsupials, they had a pouch to carry their offspring around. Borhyaenids had strong and powerful jaws, like those of "Hyaenodon " and "Andrewsarchus ", for crushing bones. They grew up to 5 or 6 feet long. "Borhyaena " and "Cladosictis " were members of this group. Today, theTasmanian Devil , a scavenging marsupial fromTasmania , most resembles them.References
