    "I Should Have Cheated" is Keyshia Cole's third single from her platinum-selling first album "The Way It Is". After her first two singles failed, this single rose to number 4 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number 30 on Billboard's Hot 100. The single is certified platinum. It made the top 5 on the 106 and Park and remained there for 46 days.

    The video for this song features rapper Chink Santana. He plays Keyshia's boyfriend in the video. Keyshia is very suspicious that her boyfriend is cheating, because of various cell phone messages and movie stubs. When she confronts him, he claims that she is the one who is cheating. Since she was faithful in the relationship, Keyshia deems that she should have cheated.

    Chart performance

    The single entered the chart at #85, and slowly moved up the charts. However, it was a success in the urban community, peaking at #4 in the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. It peaked at #30 on the US Billboard Hot 100, which was a major success compared to her previous two singles. It also charted on the US Hot Dance Club Play at #11. It was released in the UK on April 3, 2006 as a double A-side with "I Changed My Mind".
