Barbados Holetown Festival
- Barbados Holetown Festival
The Barbados Holetown Festival is a festival of the town of Holetown on the Caribbean island of Barbados, a week-long celebration that starts in mid February to commemorate the arrival of the first English settlers on 17 February 1627. Medieval songs are song in the churches and the more modern rhythms can be heard on the fairgrounds. The atmospheric juxtaposition of the old and the new combine with folk singing and dancing, sports and games, street parades and markets and food stalls that offer traditional Barbadian cuisine.
