Hinda Miller

Hinda Miller (born April 18, 1950, Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is currently a Democratic member of the Vermont State Senate, representing the Chittenden senate district.

Hinda Miller was first elected to the Vermont State Senate in 2002 and continues in that office. She was upset in the 2006 Burlington, Vermont mayoral election by Progressive Bob Kiss.

Biography

Miller earned a B.A. degree from the Parsons School of Design, New York City in 1972, and a Master of Fine Arts from New York University in 1976.

She is married to Dr. Joel Miller. The couple have a daughter and a son. The Millers moved to Burlington, Vermont in 1977.

Business career

She is a co-founder and past president (1984 - May 1994), CEO (May 1994 - January 1996), and vice president of communications (January 1996 - December 1997) of Jogbra, a maker of women's sports apparel currently owned by Sara Lee Corp..

She is owner and president of DeForest Concepts, a business consulting firm. She is also on the Board of Directors of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, a for-profit coffee company.
