"Just the Way I'm Feeling" is the second single to be released from Feeder's fourth album "Comfort In Sound". The single release created the biggest in-store signing event in HMV history, when 1,500 copies were sold of the single (all the stores stock at the time) and were all signed by the band on the same day, with an acoustic set also performed. This saw the store being closed to the general public, and was repeated two years later when the band appeared at the same store on Oxford Street for a signing-only event for their 5th studio album "Pushing the Senses", when the store was closed yet again.

One of the b-sides "The Power of Love", is a Frankie Goes to Hollywood cover, and was recorded for the NME's War Child charity album "1 Love".

"Just the Way I'm Feeling", is a mellow acoustic-based rock ballad. It uses extensive acoustic guitar strings, and steady drumming during the verses, which then builds up into a faster-paced fashion, that also features drum-fills and gets aggressive when the tempo of the song builds up. Bass strings accompany the track, which are played in different styles depending on the pace and mood of the song.

Reception

The single itself charted at #10 at the end of its release week, and gained over 15,000 plays on UK radio. The single also helped the parent album "Comfort in Sound", sell over 300,000 units in the UK enabling it to certified platinum. The record reached this required number, when follow-up "Forget About Tomorrow" was released. "Just The Way I'm Feeling" also appeared at a peak of #41 on XFM's X-List in 2004.

Other versions

"Broken" was remixed in 2003 by Dutch remixer Junkie XL, changing the name to "Clouds". The song was once again influenced by another artist, when in 2006 Italian singer Zucchero released an album in Italy titled "Fly" and included a track titled "L'amore è nell'aria" ("The love is in the air"). The track used exactly the same instrumental but was re-recorded by his band rather than sampled from Feeder's own recording.
