Above, born 1967, has been creating
public art since 1995. He is best known for his uparrows , with the clever word play . He started sprayingtrain s inCalifornia . While moving toParis at the age of 19 he started painting his trademark arrow on stores,trucks and made wooden arrows that he attached high up on city walls. Since then Above has been traveling around the world doing many large self financed tours with his artworks and "arrow mobile" installations. In 2004 Above did his "USA TOUR" and drove around the country visiting 14 cities in the USA and Toronto, Canada as well, all while hanging his spinning arrow mobiles. In 2005 Above then traveled back to Europe and did a 4 month tour from Spain to Hungary, Iceland to Rome visiting the capital cities of each 15 countries he visited. in 2006 Above went even farther and longer during his self titled "Sign Language Tour" in 26 countries around Europe and the East! (wow)during that tour fellow friend and artist RIPO also was touring in the same route doing different art works. Above and Ripo started in late 2007 and are currently touring (until May 2008) South and Central America. This tour is called the "South Central Tour" and both artists are exploring and creating large pieces in every country they visit.Having put his artworks and arrows in over 35+ countries around the globe and some has made Above one of the major players in the "street art" realm.Further reading
