ntupdate =Garry Brady (born
7 September 1976 inGlasgow ) is a Scottish footballer currently playing forScottish Premier League club St Mirren.Along with fellow Newcastle player
Des Hamilton , Scottish under 18 international winger Garry Brady joined Norwich from Newcastle on 21 March 2000, on loan to the end of the 1999/2000 season. Originally at Tottenham, Brady was snapped up by Newcastle when his contract expired in July 1998 to the disappointment of Spurs who had seen Garry establish himself in their first team (9 appearances). His move toTyneside was less successful with a serious ankle injury limiting his opportunities. Brady made his Newcastle debut against Everton atGoodison Park in July 1998.After commencing his loan spell with Norwich, Brady made his debut for the club in the 2-2 draw at QPR on 25 March 2000 but returned to Newcastle at the end of the 1999/2000 season.
In August 2000, Brady was linked by
The Sun with a move to Sheffield United but nothing materialised. On 4 September 2000, he returned toCarrow Road on a 2 month loan, with a special entitlement allowing him to play in Worthington Cup matches. His loan period expired on 26 October 2000 with Norwich declining to make the move permanent. Brady was released by Newcastle in January 2001 and joined Portsmouth on trial on 12 February 2001 before signing a permanent deal.Falling out of favour, Brady joined Scottish side Kilmarnock on trial at the end of January 2002 but was later released at the end of the 2001/02 season having made just 9 appearances for the club. In July 2002, he joined Walsall on trial. The following month saw him return
Scotland - on trial with Dundee. This move became permanent during the first week of September 2002.In mid-June 2006, Brady quickly agreed terms with SPL newcomers St Mirren, having turned down a request from Dundee to accept a wage cut.
His brother Darren is a footballer with Ross County.
