(1975)"You're No Good" is a song written by Clint Ballard, Jr. The song was first recorded and released by two female soul singers, Betty Everett and Dee Dee Warwick. It became an R&B hit for Everett in 1963. In 1975,
Linda Ronstadt took a more rootsy rock music approach to the song and her version went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and top ten on the "Billboard" country chart.

While Warwick's version garnered her some notice, it was ultimately eclipsed by the success of Everett's version, which became a top ten hit on Billboard's R&B chart and a minor hit on the Hot 100.

Linda Ronstadt

In 1974, Linda Ronstadt included a recording of "You're No Good" on her double platinum album "Heart Like a Wheel". Released as a single, Ronstadt's version, which featured Andrew Gold on guitar, topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975.

The flip side to the 7-inch single was "I Can't Help It (If I'm Still in Love With You)," a cover version of a song written and originally recorded by Hank Williams. "I Can't Help It ..." was a major country hit, peaking at No. 2 on the "Billboard" Hot Country Singles chart concurrently with the pop success of "You're No Good."
