Giuseppe Branciforti , Prince ofButera , a formerViceroy of Sicily retired here and built a largevilla . According to some sources, the name "Bagheria" originates from the Phoenician term "Bayharia" meaning "land that descends toward the sea." Other sources claim that it derives from the
