Marjorie "Marjie" Hyams, (b. 1920), a noted vibraphonist, pianist and arranger, had her own trio and quartet [from 1940-1944] played with Woody Herman (1944–45) and Flip Phillips in the mid 1940s. She formed another trio with such noted guitarists as Tal Farlow, Mundell Lowe, and Billy Bauer from 1945 to 1948. She also arranged and sang with Charlie Ventura, and recorded with Mary Lou Williams. Marjie joined George Shearing in (1949–51), and after marrying, moved to Chicago where she continued her career for almost two decades while raising three children.
In February, 2011, she did an interview with Marc Myers of JazzWax that was well received and rekindled interest in her career. http://www.jazzwax.com/2011/02/interview-marjorie-hyams.html
