- Hezbi Islami
Hizb-e Islami (also Hezbi Islami, Hezb-i-Islami, Hezbi-Islami, Hezb-e-Islami), meaning "Islamic Party" is an
Islam ic organization commonly known for fighting the Soviet occupation ofAfghanistan . Led by and founded byGulbuddin Hekmatyar , it was established inPakistan in 1975 and grew out of theMuslim Youth organization, an Islamist organization founded inKabul by students and teachers atKabul University in 1969 to combatcommunism in Afghanistan.
