Maya Burman

Maya Burman (born 1971) is a contemporary artist of Indian parentage living in France. She is the youngest member of an extended family of eminent artists: her father, Sakti Burman, who also lives and works in France, though he is considered an Indian artist; her cousin, Jayasri Burman; and her cousin's husband, Paresh Maity. She works mainly in pen and ink, and watercolor; her paintings are delicate and usually have a strong fantasy element. She has had several exhibitions of her work in India, France, and the UK, and won several prizes.
