Ellis Robins School is a boys' high school that was founded in Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1953. It is located in the suburb of Mabelreign in Salisbury (now called Harare). Next door to the school is Mabelreign Girls High School, the sister school of Ellis Robins School. The Ellis Robins school colours are yellow and blue, the badge has two dolphins facing each other, and the school motto is "Esse Quam Videri" which means "It's Better To Be Than To Seem To Be".

This motto comes from the family coat of arms of Sir Ellis Robins, who was Chairman of the British South Africa Company

There was a government proposal in 2003 to rename all schools in Zimbabwe and Ellis Robins was scheduled to be called Leopold Takawira Boys High but overwhelming parental disapproval ensures that the original name is still used.

The school is one of the popular group A schools which participate in the Cottco Schools Rugby Festival which is held annually at Prince Edward School. Ellis Robins is also popular for using the trademark nickaname "FUSH". They are rivals with Allan Wilson School and regularly clashed at the inter-schools athletics competitions held at The National Sports Stadium (Zimbabwe). There are four sporting houses at the school - Malcom, Lawley, Abercorn and Newton. Boarders are automatically placed into Malcom; the boarding hostel is called Malcom House. Other sports at the school include Soccer, Field Hockey, Table Tennis , Lawn Tennis, Chess, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, Cross Country and Gymnastics. The school did and still does well in many Public Speaking and Debating competitions.
