He was an assistant for theBoston College Eagles from 1997 to 2006,University of Rhode Island from 1996 to 1997,University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 1994 to 1995, andStonehill College from 1995 to 1996.During his nine season as an assistant to
Al Skinner atBoston College , Cooley helped the Eagles post a 175-108 overall record, which included five 20-win seasons. The team captured the 2000-01Big East championship, five NCAA tournament berths, and oneNational Invitation Tournament , giving the team six post-season berths in nine seasons.Cooley began his coaching career at the
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth . In his one year, Cooley assisted in the team's recruiting, coordinated the scouting effort, and assisted in practice preparation and game strategies. His contributions helped the Corsairs to a 25-4 mark and a No. 3 national ranking.Cooley played basketball from 1990 to 1994 at
Stonehill College where he was a three-year team captain with the Chieftains, and also capturedNortheast-10 Academics Honor Roll accolades. He secured twoRhode Island High School Player of the Year awards.Ed and his wife Nurys have two children, a son, Isaiah Malik, and a daughter, Olivia Grace.
