Ambajogai is a city and a municipal council in Beed district in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Ambajogai had a population of 69,277. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Ambajogai has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Ambajogai, is a city located in Marathwada region of the western Indian state of Maharashtra. Ambajogai is widely considered the educational and cultural capital of Marathwada. In Nijam regime, it was known as Mominabad.
Marathi Adhykavi Mukundraj and Sant Dasopant spent their life at this place. It has famous Yogeshwari Temple, which is considered as 1 of 3 1/2 peeths in Maharashtra. It is located 25 kilometers from Parali Vaijanath.

Amabajogai has a reputation for its several esteemed colleges and educational institutions. Ambjogai also has a Medical College "Sri Ramanand Tirth Medical College"which is the first rural medical college in Asia.
