Wormelow Tump

Wormelow Tump

Wormelow Tump is a village in Herefordshire, England, 11 km (7 miles) south of Hereford and 15 km (9 miles) north west of Ross-on-Wye.

The tump itself was a mound which local tradition holds was the burial place of King Arthur's son Amyr. The tump was destroyed during road widening in 1896.

The Domesday Book mentions the custom that all citizens of Herefordshire who owned a horse were required to attend the meeting of all the Hundreds, which took place every three years at Wormelow Tump. The village is the site of a museum commemorating the life of World War II secret agent Violette Szabo.
