In October 2001 frequent flyer Matthew Daimler launched SeatGuru.com with a single interactive
aircraft seating chart. Each seat is color-coded, withgreen being a "good seat",red being a "poor seat", andyellow being a "be aware" seat, meaning that there is some information that you should know about the seat (less legroom, etc).Having realized the vast differences between airline seats, he was determined to build a repository of this useful information and share it with other travelers. Over twelve million unique visitors later, SeatGuru has enjoyed success and has expanded to more than 400 aircraft seat maps from 55 different
airlines .In August 2003, SeatGuru.com was incorporated in
Seattle , WA, following the launch of Google'sAdSense program. The AdSense advertising platform helped SeatGurumonetize its website traffic.
