Hallgeir Brenden (
February 10 1929 –September 21 2007 ) was a former Norwegian cross-country skier fromTørberget inTrysil .He won Olympic gold medals in the 18 km event at the
1952 Winter Olympics and in the 15 km event at the1956 Winter Olympics , and an Olympic silver medal in the 4 x 10 km relay at the 1952 Winter Olympics. Brenden also won at theHolmenkollen ski festival three times (18 km: 1952 and 15 km: 1956 and 1963). He is the only person to win the Olympic,FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and Holmenkollen events at both 18 km and 15 km. In 1955, Brenden was awarded theHolmenkollen medal (shared withKing Haakon VII ,Veikko Hakulinen , andSverre Stenersen ).Brenden also competed on national level in athletics, and won the Norwegian championships in 3000 metre steeplechase in 1953 and 1954. He competed for
