Tom Koutsantonis

Tom Koutsantonis is the current member for the electoral district of West Torrens where he has lived his entire life, attending Netley Primary School and Adelaide High School.

Koutsantonis was elected to the South Australian Parliament on the 11th of October 1997. Tom's electorate includes the suburbs of Thebarton, Mile End, Torrensville, Underdale, Brooklyn Park, Netley, West Beach and parts of Lockleys, North Plympton, Camden Park and Novar Gardens. It also includes in the Adelaide Airport and surrounds.

Tom attended the University of Adelaide, paying his way by driving a taxi and went on to run a small business. Tom later became an Industrial Officer, for the Shop Distributive Allied Employees Association.

The 2006 election saw Koutsantonis increase his margin to a huge 18.3%. Koutsantonis was elevated to the chairmanship of the economic and advisory committee after the 2006 Election.
