Alexandre Audet

Alexandre Audet

Alexandre Audet (b. 1979, St. Leon-de-Standon, Québec, Canada) is a former Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) ice hockey player who was a member of the 1997 Memorial Cup-winning Hull Olympiques.

During his career, Audet played for the Hull Olympiques and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. A left-winger, he wore number 17 and was known for his skill as an agitator. In 1997, he became a fan favourite as he helped the host Olympiques to their first-ever Memorial Cup win. It was noted by Olympiques fans that the team did not lose any game in the tournament when Audet was in the line-up. He also contributed two assists in the playoff run. The following year, he had the Huskies' third-highest penalty minutes total during the playoffs.

Following his QMHJL career, Audet played for the University of Ottawa Gee Gees and earned a teaching degree. He currently teaches physical education in Nepean, Ontario, and is married to Teresa Dubois.

He has become an accomplished long-distance runner, and has participated in many races in the southwestern Ontario region. He is a member of a Triathlon Relay Team, and helped his team to a second overall finish in the Ottawa Early Bird Triathlon in 2006. As the runner, he completed his 5km portion of the event in slightly over eighteen minutes, first overall in the race. He ran again in 2007 as part of Team Spandexxx, and although the team finished second overall once again, Audet was again the top runner, having shaved nearly a full minute off his time.
