Sean Hughes (politician)

Sean Hughes (8 May 1946 – 25 June 1990) was a British Labour politician.

Hughes was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Knowsley South in 1983, and held the seat until his death aged 44 in 1990. He served as an Opposition whip. Along with Allan Roberts and Michael Carr, he was one of three Merseyside Labour MPs who died in their 40s in the year 1990.
