*Thomas Michael Holt (1831-1896) Governor of North Carolina from 1891 to 1893.
*Thomas Holt (1811-1888), born in Yorkshire, who became well known in Australia as a wool merchant, financier and politician before retiring to London where he was known for his philanthropy and support of The Salvation Army. Thomas Holt lived in Marrickville. He was instrumental in establishing the Congregational Church in the district — see Arthur Aspinall.
