(2004)"Shadows Collide with People" is the fourth studio album by
John Frusciante , releasedFebruary 24 2004 . The album was written during the recording of "By the Way ", [http://www.invisible-movement.net/articles/2004-press/1126-austincronicle/2] and is widely regarded as his most accessible work, featuring a mix of guitar-drivenalternative rock , folkballad s, andelectronica . Frusciante has stated that this was his most expensive album to date, costing around $300,000 to produce. [Baccigaluppi, John. (September/October 2007) "John Frusciante on Bending Sound and Why You Shouldn't Just Connect the Dots". Tape OP. Retrieved on 2007-10-18.]Flea plays a
double bass on "The Slaughter", the closing track of the album. All tracks were written by John Frusciante and the majority of the vocal work is performed by him. Another notable feature of this album is John's newfound ability to sing in a more professional-sounding and stronger voice than ever before.Frusciante also made acoustic and demo versions of these tracks available to fans through his official site, as an alternative to the highly produced sound of the record. A promo version of the album was also made, with the tracks "Omission" and "Song to Sing When I'm Lonely".
The album reached #191 on the Billboard 200 and #11 on Heatseekers.
