Poofy

Poofy

A Poofy is a shower sponge. It is similar to a luffa, but generally made from fabric. It greatly increases showering efficiency over older methods like bar soap. Poofies sometimes have strings for ease of hanging.

An excellent way to prepare a poofy for use is to squeeze repeatedly after applying body soap. This action serves to work up soap lather much faster than simply rubbing or beginning immediate cleaning use.

Poofy is also a slang adjective used to describe something that is soft/fluffy and puffy but has a sense of firmness to it, generally used to describe hair or soft objects.

Poofy can also be used to describe something that gives a positive emotional feeling, such as an animal that is very loving or even a friend or sibling with whom you have a very strong relationship. This sense of the word is derived from the slang (see above) which describes a soft or fluffy object.

Poofy can also be used in British-English slang as a derogatory adjective for a homosexual male. See Also: poof. Also the word Poofy can be used as a Gibraltarian slang term meaning to pass wind (fart).
