Bishop of Sheffield

The Bishop of Sheffield is the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Sheffield. There have been six holders of the position, the last being the Right Reverend John (Jack) Nicholls, who became Bishop in June 1997. Bishop Jack retired in July 2008 on his 65th birthday. The Diocese was formed in 1914 from part of the Diocese of York, the first Bishop was the Right Reverend Leonard Hedley Burrows.
