Chaşá are Indians of
South America , told of only briefly in the letters of Pedro Olavares de Henares, a member of the third mission of Spanishexplorers to venture into what are nowPeru andBolivia .(seeMarvelist Press )History
Separated from the group because of sickness and left to die, he claims in his letters to have been found and brought miraculously back to health by a tribe of Indians of great size, references to whom have been made by no one else traveling in that area, and one questioned by
anthropologists .His letters tell of their
legend s, mystical practices and bizarre abilities (simple clairvoyance or simpatico among others)He never returned to Spain and his letters are the only remaining proof of his existence after the outset of the mission.
