Magnesia ,Greece , built on a fertile plateau, 40 km southeast ofVolos . It is an important commercial andtourism center of the area with a rich cultural tradition. Argalasti is a stopping point for those headed for the nearby beaches of thePagasetic Gulf (Horto, Kalamos,Lefokastro ) or theAegean Sea (Potistika, Melani, Paltsi). This
Pelion town is well known for its buildings of architectural interest. Embbed into the walls of many constructions in the village one will find pieces ofAncient andMedieval buildings. This special style adds something to the atmosphere of the town. The monastery ofSaint Nicolas , provide a magnificent view to the town. Close to the town square, is the church ofSaint ApostlesPeter and Paul built in 1886. Perhaps the most impressive part of that church is themarble bell tower, built in 1913.Historical population
